1. WHAT NOWSETTLED IS
NowSettled is a consumer application that helps two people work through an everyday disagreement.
Each participant privately provides their side of a disagreement. The other participant cannot see that private submission before the case reaches the applicable sharing stage. NowSettled uses artificial intelligence to generate clarifying questions and, after the applicable responses are received, an AI-generated written decision.
A NowSettled decision is intended to help people move forward from an everyday disagreement. It is not legally binding and does not require either participant to follow it.
NOWSETTLED IS NOT A LAWYER, LAW FIRM, ARBITRATOR, MEDIATOR, THERAPIST, COUNSELOR, DOCTOR, FINANCIAL ADVISER, OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVISER. NOWSETTLED DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL, MEDICAL, MENTAL-HEALTH, FINANCIAL, OR SAFETY ADVICE.
2. ACCEPTANCE AND ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old to use NowSettled.
By creating an account or using the service, you represent that you are at least 18, can legally enter into these Terms, and will use the service lawfully.
If you are under 18, do not create or use an account.
3. YOUR ACCOUNT
NowSettled uses email and password authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password and for activity occurring through your account.
You may use a display name rather than your legal name. Display names are not verified by NowSettled. You may not use a display name to impersonate another person or mislead others.
You may create more than one account, but you may not use multiple accounts to evade a block, suspension, safety restriction, or other enforcement action.
4. HOW A CASE WORKS
A case generally involves two participants.
Each participant privately provides their side of the disagreement and may provide a desired outcome. The other participant cannot access that original submission before the applicable sharing stage.
NowSettled may ask clarifying questions. After the applicable information is received, NowSettled generates a written decision.
A decision may be categorized as:
• Winner — one side is better supported by the information provided;
• Shared Fault — both sides contributed to the disagreement;
• Compromise — a middle-ground resolution is recommended; or
• No Ruling — there is not enough information, or the dispute is not suitable for a meaningful decision.
The labels are product categories, not legal findings.
5. AI-GENERATED DECISIONS
NowSettled decisions are generated by artificial intelligence. AI can be wrong, incomplete, inconsistent, biased, or based on inaccurate or incomplete information.
NowSettled does not independently investigate the facts of a dispute and does not guarantee that statements, documents, screenshots, photographs, or other evidence submitted by participants are authentic or accurate.
A decision reflects the information available to the system when it is generated. A "Winner" designation does not establish objective truth, legal responsibility, or factual certainty.
Do not rely on a NowSettled decision for a matter involving legal rights, financial decisions, medical care, mental health, personal safety, criminal allegations, domestic abuse, violence, threats, child safety, or any other high-stakes matter.
You remain responsible for deciding what to do after receiving a decision.
6. SAFETY BOUNDARIES
NowSettled is intended for ordinary interpersonal disagreements, including matters such as household chores, money owed between friends, informal arrangements, everyday purchases, shared decisions, relationship disagreements, repeated cancellations, and similar disputes.
Do not use NowSettled to resolve:
• immediate danger or emergencies;
• threats of violence;
• physical violence or domestic abuse;
• sexual assault or sexual violence;
• stalking;
• child abuse or child-safety situations;
• self-harm or suicide;
• serious criminal matters;
• medical emergencies; or
• other situations in which a person's immediate safety may be at risk.
If our systems identify content suggesting a serious safety risk, NowSettled may refuse to generate a normal decision and instead display a general message directing you to local emergency services or appropriate professional help.
The launch version may provide a general safety message rather than a country-specific resource directory.
7. YOUR CONTENT
You retain ownership of the content you submit to NowSettled.
You grant Cory Primo and NowSettled a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, process, and otherwise use your content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service; generate questions, decisions, reflections, and related features you request; investigate abuse and security incidents; comply with law; and enforce these Terms.
This license does not give NowSettled ownership of your content.
You are responsible for having the right to submit content you provide, including photographs, screenshots, documents, or information about other people.
8. PRIVATE SUBMISSIONS AND SHARED OUTPUTS
The central privacy design of NowSettled is:
PRIVATE SUBMISSIONS → AI PROCESSING → SHARED DECISION.
Your original submission is not automatically disclosed to the other participant merely because NowSettled processes it through AI.
Once a case reaches its applicable sharing stage, the final decision is a shared case artifact and may be shown to both participants.
The technical fallback flow may operate differently from the normal AI decision flow. If the normal decision process fails or times out, NowSettled may use a fallback experience in which each participant answers reflective questions and each participant is shown the one thing the other participant chose to concede. This fallback is a technical recovery path, not a safety determination.
9. EVIDENCE
Certain cases allow participants to upload evidence, including JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, and PDF files, subject to the limits displayed in the app.
Evidence you attach to a case may become visible to the other participant once the case reaches the applicable sharing stage.
DO NOT UPLOAD PASSWORDS, GOVERNMENT IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS, BANK OR PAYMENT CREDENTIALS, MEDICAL RECORDS, OR OTHER HIGHLY SENSITIVE INFORMATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A LEGITIMATE REASON AND THE RIGHT TO SHARE IT.
You are responsible for evidence you upload and for respecting other people's privacy and intellectual-property rights.
10. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
You may not use NowSettled to:
• harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, or intimidate another person;
• expose or distribute another person's private information without authorization;
• impersonate another person;
• submit fraudulent or deliberately deceptive material;
• violate another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
• facilitate illegal activity;
• target, exploit, or endanger minors;
• circumvent safety controls, blocks, or suspensions;
• interfere with the security or operation of the service; or
• use the service for a purpose prohibited by applicable law.
You may not create or manipulate a case primarily to humiliate, threaten, expose, coerce, or target another person.
11. REPORTING, BLOCKING, AND MODERATION
You can report objectionable content or conduct through the reporting feature in the app or by contacting support@nowsettled.com.
Report categories may include harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, spam, and other violations.
You can block another participant. A block prevents future case pairing between the blocked users in either direction.
We may review reports manually and may remove content, restrict cases, suspend or terminate accounts, or take other reasonable action to protect users, the service, or the public.
We aim to respond to reports in a timely manner, but we do not guarantee a particular response time or outcome.
12. CONFLICT-STYLE PROFILE
NowSettled may create a private conflict-style profile based on structured signals from your participation in cases and related onboarding information.
The profile may include dimensions such as pace, directness, empathy, flexibility, and follow-through, as well as a style description.
Your conflict-style profile is private to you. It is not shown to the other participant and is not used by the decision-generation function to determine the outcome of a future case.
A separate pairing record may contain shared relationship-level information, such as a case count or win/loss tally, which may be visible to both participants in that pairing.
13. CASE COACH
If you use Case Coach or another premium coaching feature, your conversations with that feature may be stored as part of providing the feature.
Case Coach is intended to help you organize and prepare your own side of a disagreement. It does not receive the other participant's private submission, clarifying answers, or final decision merely because you use Case Coach.
14. PAYMENTS AND PREMIUM FEATURES
NowSettled may offer a one-time Single Case Upgrade and an auto-renewable NowSettled Plus subscription. Current planned prices are $3.99 for the Single Case Upgrade, $9.99 per month for NowSettled Plus, and $79.99 per year for NowSettled Plus.
Purchases made through the iOS App Store are processed by Apple. We may use RevenueCat to manage subscription and entitlement information.
A purchase does not buy, guarantee, or improve a particular case outcome.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple's applicable subscription controls. Apple's terms and policies also apply to App Store purchases.
15. NO WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NOWSETTLED IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY AI-GENERATED DECISION WILL BE FAIR, COMPLETE, UNBIASED, OR CORRECT.
16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CORY PRIMO, NOWSETTLED, AND THEIR AFFILIATES, CONTRACTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR RELATIONSHIPS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO NOWSETTLED FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
17. INDEMNIFICATION
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cory Primo, NowSettled, and their affiliates, contractors, service providers, officers, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from or related to:
• your violation of these Terms;
• your unlawful use of the service;
• content or evidence you submit;
• your violation of another person's rights; or
• your intentional misuse of the service.
18. DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND ARBITRATION
IMPORTANT: THIS SECTION AFFECTS HOW DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND NOWSETTLED MAY BE RESOLVED.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and Cory Primo arising out of or relating to NowSettled, these Terms, or the service will be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, except for claims that may lawfully be brought in small-claims court or other claims that cannot legally be required to arbitration.
The arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis. Neither you nor Cory Primo may participate in a class action, class-wide arbitration, collective action, or representative proceeding for a dispute covered by this agreement, except to the extent such a waiver is prohibited by law.
The arbitration may be conducted remotely. The arbitrator, not a court, will decide the arbitrability of claims where legally permitted.
Nothing in this section prevents you from reporting matters to a government agency, exercising a non-waivable statutory right, or seeking emergency injunctive relief where permitted by law.
If any portion of this arbitration provision is found unenforceable, the remaining portions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law, except that if the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed only as required by applicable law.
19. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
Mandatory consumer-protection, privacy, or other rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
20. ACCOUNT DELETION
You may delete your account through the account controls available in the app.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your account information and personal content from our active systems, subject to the exceptions described in our Privacy Policy.
If you participated in a completed case with another person, we may retain the completed decision as a shared case artifact for the benefit of the remaining participant.
Because the decision is generated using role placeholders rather than storing participant display names in the decision itself, your direct account identifiers are not stored in the decision. The decision may nevertheless contain facts or descriptions that could indirectly identify you.
Your original submission, answers, evidence, private reflections, and conflict-style profile are not retained for the remaining participant's benefit.
Reported content, security information, and other limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, prevent fraud, comply with law, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Individual case deletion may be added in a future version of the service; it is not promised as a launch feature.
21. TERMINATION
You may stop using NowSettled at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create a safety or security risk, engage in abuse, misuse the service, or where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.
22. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms as the service, law, or our practices change.
For material changes, we may provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.
Your continued use of the service after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
23. SEVERABILITY
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.
24. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly incorporated into the service, constitute the agreement between you and Cory Primo concerning NowSettled and supersede prior agreements concerning the service.
